AbstractNowadays, GPS (Global Positioning System) have many application areas. In this study, A GPS receiver device that is based on the Atmel AT89C2051 uC is made. It consists of WD-G-ZX4120 GPS module, 2x16 LCD display and MAX232. It analyses NMEA_0185 message format for time, latitude, longitude, number of satellites and velocity data. It is loaded on the microcontroller by desinging a software that can analyse the information in NMEA 0185 format and can transfer the information to outer interface.
