Abstract Since Wireless networks use increased, wireless security issues has gained importance. Attackers search for open things on standardized wireless security and attacks for the various purposes in accordance with some methods. Although these attacks are sometimes brought simple damages, it?s seen that it can bring great harm for business organizations and for systems that requires essential communication continuity. The main purposes of these attacks are to seize the secret key and sabotage the transmission of the other legal users by disconnecting wireless network communication. IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) worked to improve more secure encryption algorithms while creating secure wireless network standard of 802.11i and met the deficits of security standards on wireless networks used earlier times as WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy). The development of wireless networks and their securities were for the attackers attack methods. But Martin Beck and Erik Tews have developed a method that breaks WPA ( Wi-Fi Protected Access),that uses TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol) and created in November 2008,encryption system and showed us wireless networks can be broken with some attack methods in spite of the developments in wireless security. These attack methods have taken place in the literature. In this review, the attack types on the wireless networks, the classification of these attacks with their purposes and the solutions taken against these attacks have been addressed.
