| Abstract | In this study, the fuzzy logic approach is applied to a L band EDFA (1530-1565nm) to obtain optimum erbium doped fiber (EDF) length giving maximum signal gain and maximum signal gain for the temperatures of the range -20/+60 C. The fuzzy rules are compiled using the input variables which are the signal wavelength and the temperature while the output parameters are the signal gain and the optimum fiber length providing the maximum signal gain. As a result, the suggested mechanism provides the estimations of the fiber length giving the maximum signal gain against the input signal wavelength, and the temperatures with the accuracy level of 94% - 99%. |
