ve modernizmin en temel kurumlarından biri olan kütüphaneler, bilgi
toplumu içinde karşılaştığı entelektüel teknolojilerle postmodern bir
durum içine girmiştir. Bu çalışmada modern ve postmodern süreçlerde kütüphanenin işlevleri ve bilginin topluma sunulmasındaki rolü sorgulanmaktadır. Bu süreçlerin yansımaları ve etkileri bağlamında Türkiyedeki durum da incelenmektedir. Anahtar kelimeler: Kütüphaneler, Modernizm, Postmodernizm, Bilgi Toplumu, Kamusal Alan, Entelektüel Teknoloji Abstract: Library as one of the basic institutions of enlightenment and modernism entered into the postmodern condition due to its encounter with intellectual technologies pertaining to information society. In this study, the functions of library and its role in presentation of knowledge to society are questioned in modern and postmodern processes. The current situation in Turkey is also investigated in the context of reflections and influences of these processes.
