| Abstract | In this paper, we present the topics covered and laboratory work performed at the “BİL111 Fundamentals of Computer Engineering” course at TOBB University of Economics & Technology, which is considered as the first exposition of the students to computer engineering curriculum along with the personal views of the faculty who has taught this course at this institution in a time perspective of three years. The rough consensus among the associated faculty can be expressed as follows: Fundamentals of Computer Science course, which is an equivalent of the CS0 course recommended by the ACM and the IEEE, contributes positively to the students’ better understanding of the fundamental concepts of the computer science. Yet, possible modifications and alternative teaching methodologies of the existing structure of this course are discussed. |
